Postdoctoral position available at Istituto di Ricerca Pediatrica Città della Speranza and CNR Neuroscience Institute, Padova
We are seeking for a highly motivated fellow to join our team collaborating with clinicians on a project aimed at elucidating the molecular bases of left ventricular non-compaction (LVNC) and cardiac dysfunction in muscular dystrophy-associated cardiomyopathies.
The project spans from in vitro work, employing patient iPSC-derived cardiomyocytes, to in vivo experiments, carried out in mouse models of LVNC and dystrophy.
Applicants should have expertise in tissue cell culture, biochemistry and molecular biology.
Background in cardiac biology and prior experience with iPSCs reprogramming and animal models will be an advantage. Position is available from January 2021.
Lab research interests include characterization of mitochondrial sources of reactive oxygen species and modulation of mitochondrial function in relation to cardiac disease, as well as the interplay between ROS signaling and autophagy.
